Dear Families of Oregon City Service Learning Academy Students,
As we approach the beginning of the school year, I would like to welcome all of you to what promises to be a very exciting school year for the Oregon City Service Learning Academy community. New opportunities and challenges will present themselves for anyone who is interested and willing to become involved. Given our school’s commitment to service learning, both in the community and in the classroom, my hope is to broaden our service aims both to our immediate community, but also to a wider community outside of Oregon City. There is no shortage of work that can be done on behalf of others and in the spirit of service.
I hope that your summer break has been restful and that you are looking forward to the start of the school year. Here at OCSLA we offer numerous opportunities for your students to be engaged and challenged, not only academically, but also socially and emotionally
as well. We believe that all of us, staff and students, have opportunities to grow and that intelligence and knowledge are malleable. As a staff, we are committed to teaching and modeling the foundational skills that will get your students ready for college and/or a career.
I would encourage families to stay involved in your student’s high school
experience by attending parent-teacher conferences, monitoring student progress on ParentVue, and communicating with us on a regular basis. It is truly amazing what a dedicated staff, supportive parents, and great students can achieve together.
On behalf of all of our staff, I look forward to working with you throughout the upcoming school year.
